Just this past weekend, my body forced me to rest by making me sick. Fluish.
So I slept. Hard. Like, nearly 14 hrs.
After I woke, I soaked in a hot lavender + eucalyptus bath & serenaded myself,
then I danced in my living room,
then I ate,
then I went back to sleep for another 8 hours.
I have always been ambitious with my time. Finding that equal balance between work, play & rest has been my ongoing challenge. Because I really do love to work & I really do love to play, I often neglect rest. When rest...
Women, we should be setting aside time each day to connect with the womb - to honor and respect her so she becomes a channel of joy, power, creativity, and beauty. If her voice goes unheard, unanswered, denied - we let the womb suffer and disharmony surrounds us. The womb is a storehouse of all our emotions collecting every feeling — good and bad.
So defend her.
With your life.
After all, she is only just the birthplace of all creative abilities, the gateway to all human life, the heart of our inner wis...
I was asked to create a piece to capture the love between a friend and her dearest, Blue. I admit I struggled at first because it was a bit emotional to put myself in her shoes and connect with her love and loss. Then I just sat deeper into those feelings and the art flowed through naturally.
George Bernard Shaw said, “Heartbreak is life educating us.” This speaks volumes on so many levels. Pets teach us how to give and more importantly, RECEIVE true unconditional love.
When I made this painting, I never would have imagined where they would end up. I only asked that they went to a home where these Goddesses would be loved and where they in return would offer inspiration and guidance.
I'm so happy they have found their home. I'm grateful to the person who invested in my work and shared these photos of the Goddesses now gathering in her home.
I imagine when Goddesses gather

They are humbled
When they witness our world
Our prayers and devotion
And them as our muses.
"How did we get here?
How did we get chosen
To be worshipped
To be the one to give them
What they ask for?
If only they can see,
They all have
what we all do.
They just have to see.
They are just like me.
When I lived in their wor...
January has been about preparing for classes that begin in February. One of the classes that I'm most particularly thrilled about is the Art Journal workshop. Art Journalling is my part of my daily ritual and is significant to my growth as an artist and my overall well-being. Now, I am pleased that I get to facilitate the importance of Art Journalling and its benefits. This process is not just for 'the creatives', it encourages mental and spiritual well-being for everyone.
New Years is really important to me. More than Christmas, Thanksgiving or any other holiday. No superstitions, no traditions. Though I do place significance on how the day is spent and who it is spent with. It is a time for grounding, reflection, aspirations and gratitude. How timely to wake up this morning and finish the painting that took its time to flourish.
The imagery was born from Pablo Neruda's poem "Oda a las gracias" (english translation:...
The process of painting the fondest memory for a loved one is a deep and personal experience. It is probably the closest thing to time travel for me. Arriving at their sweet, succinct moment, I can feel the emotions once felt.
